Is there likely to be a SportsDo install for Android? Specifically, I'd like to use it on an HTC Hero.

We're not working on it right now. We've taken a wait and see approach to the Android platform so far, as there are so many different smart phone operating systems around at the moment, with the winner(s) yet to be decided.

Don't wait too long, especially with the Google phone round the corner. I've had to buy a copy of Satski to use on my HTC Hero. I know it's not going to perform as well (due to the lack of bluetooth connection to external devices support in Android), but it was my only option - after dropping my TyTN II in the sea....

Mobile applications are a very fragmented market at the moment, which makes it hard to know where to put development effort.
5 years ago, the market was pretty much Windows Mobile and Java. Now, there's Blackberry, which can run Java applications, but requires blackberry specific modifications, the iPhone, and now Android, all of which have taken market share from Java and Windows Mobile.
I do find it slightly fustrating that in all the coverage of smart phones in the media, they almost never mention Windows Mobile. I know it's not sleek and cool like the iPhone, but the handsets are capable and mature, and Windows Mobile has been doing smart phone stuff pretty well for years. My HTC Diamond 2 is a really useful device.

Please please please release this! I have been using SportsDo for years and I have just brought myself a lovely HTC Hero.
There are a few apps on the market which try to do what SportsDo does but they simply are not as good..
They way I see it moving forward is you need an app on the iPhone and Andriod.

I understand your comments. It's a tricky time for mobile development, as there are now 4 major platforms, rather than 2 when SportsDo was first written.
Andriod is a good platform, and should be able to support SportsDo very well. The way that the GPS is accessed on the iPhone makes porting SportsDo much harder. I know there are other apps doing similar things on the iPhone, but some of that is smoke and mirrors, as the iPhone API will give you position but not speed and elevation, which means that data has to be calculated and adding in afterwards, which changes how SportsDo works, and in my opinion means the values for averages etc are nearly so accurate.

I know it's probably too early for you to say but you must be thinking of doing some more development on SportsDo otherwise there soon won't be any platforms left that support Sportsdo in its current form. Windows Phone 7 Series is launched later this year and existing Windows Mobile 6.5 users will gradually switch to this new platform. From what I've read so far WP7S will not support existing WM6.5 apps and apps for the new platform will only be available through their Marketplace. I know you've had a good relationship with Microsoft in the past so are you going to develop SportsDo for the new platform?
